The bad, or things that needs some love
· The truck has been siting almost the full year that I’ve had it, so it my need some fine tuning
· The Fi-Tech EFI is great, however, I have heard that the fuel pump Command Center may get hot. Some guy’s recommend replacing with an inline pump, I’ve never had a problem but haven’t driven more than the 10 miles to and from work once a week.
· The truck gearing seems real low, on the freeway, which I’ve only driven a few times, the truck hits 4500 RPMs at 65 MPH. Re-Gearing may be needed if you plan to drive at high speeds.
· The truck will easily pass a tailpipe test, however, may fail a visual because it has fuel injection and no smog pump. Id prefer to sell outside of California where the truck is smoged based on Federal Emissions Standards.
· Leaks, the truck has a small leak on the transfer case, appears to be a front seal, maybe a drop or two ever couple weeks.
· The front and main seal of the oil pan or somewhere in that area have small leaks, maybe a couple drops every couple weeks. My driveway is clean concrete and rarely has a couple drops of oil on it. I can send pictures to show how tiny the drops are, they usually only appear after weeks of sitting.
· Some rust, mostly just small spots in the usually areas.
· The paint is a cheap paint jub done by the Previous Owner, some over spray, chips and some rust spots. I’d love to re paint it if I had the money, but overall the body is straight.
So, if I kept the truck I might re-gear it and look into a different style fuel pump and that is if I had problems. Just being honest with you guy’s because I love this dang truck.
